We’re on a mission to educate and inspire children to become the next generation of marine champions. Through the colourful Bubble Buddies Bay family of animated characters and their fun, interactive stories, we bring the wonders of marine life to our young audience, fostering a deep connection and respect for the sea.

Launched in 2024, Bubble Buddies Bay is inspired by the best-selling ‘Fishsoup’ book series by Greek author George Lebesis. Released in 2011, the series inspired songs, theatre performances, and games.

We have reinvented a brand new underwater world with the aim to teach children about subjects such as coral reef preservation, plastic pollution and the magnificent creatures that call the sea, home.

Every child has the power to make a difference. We’re here to show them how.

Webra Group is an independent British production company made up of a passionate team who believe in the power of stories to inspire change. Debra, Rosa and Tricia met a long time ago at Pinewood Studios and apart from sharing a love of film and TV production, they shared an interest in ecological issues.   

Fast forward a few years and they joined forces to create Bubble Buddies Bay.  The story begins with Debra, an experienced animator who, in 2016 moved to the sunny shores of Greece. Inspired by the crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life she discovered there, it wasn’t long before she was joining in with the local community on their regular sea and beach cleans.  With a love of adventure and always ready to explore new places, make new friends and help others, Debra is just like our Bubble Buddies Octopus, Dimitra! When Debra came across the beloved series ‘Fishsoup’ by Greek author George Lebesis, the books, with their combination of fun stories and important ecological messages, resonated with her.

Rosa, our Head of Production, is no stranger to the ocean, having spent her childhood sailing the seas. Her grandfather was a Sicilian shipowner, so she grew up with a strong maritime heritage. We say Rosa is like our sea turtle Teresa, having sailed and explored the sea since she was a child, she knows the ocean's many secrets and loves to share her knowledge with others.

Tricia is an environmental campaigner who organises beach, sea and river clean-ups.  She works with organisations that turn plastic into clothing and advises them on how to be more sustainable.  Spend time with Tricia and you'll see how much like Sophia the Seahorse she is.  Always ready with an answer to questions about sustainability, Tricia visits schools to deliver talks about Ocean Literacy and the impact of the plastics increasingly found in our oceans.  Alongside the work with schools, she teaches water safety to adults and pupils for the United Nations Climate Challenge. 

We are sure you will agree that Bubble Buddies Bay wouldn't be the fun, vibrant adventure that it is without the amazing illustrations of Tamsin Baker.  Tamsin lives in rural Oxfordshire alongside her Greek rescue cat Indi, who looks like Anastasia's cat.  Along with her two children, she loves visiting Greece, and they proudly tell everyone that their mummy draws the Bubble Buddies Bay fish!
